About KitchenGuard

A Virginia Beach company built to solve a real problem for Hampton Roads restaurants and food service operators.

Why I started KitchenGuard

Parker Phillips, owner of KitchenGuard, in a commercial kitchen

Parker Phillips

Owner, born and raised in Virginia Beach

I was born and raised right here in Virginia Beach. I did not grow up with much. My mother raised me and did the best she could, and somewhere along the way I became the person everyone called when something broke. Friends, family, neighbors, I was the fix-it guy, and I always showed up.

That part of me never changed. I have spent more than 20 years working on commercial kitchen equipment, and I earned my reputation one job at a time by being fair, being honest, and doing the work the way I said I would. There were times I bid a job wrong and finished it at a loss anyway, because my word is worth more to me than any single invoice.

I started KitchenGuard because Hampton Roads deserves better. For too long, operators here have been stuck with slow response times, technicians who do not really know the equipment, and companies that treat them like a number. This is my hometown. These are my neighbors. I want to give this area the reliable, professional service it has been missing.

I am proud of a lot of things, my two sons most of all, and the close friends who became family. I bring that same loyalty to work every day. When you call KitchenGuard, you are trusting us with your kitchen and your livelihood, and we are going to show up, tell you the truth, and solve the problem. You can count on that.

Hampton Roads restaurant operators deserve better

When a walk-in fails on a Saturday night, most restaurant owners in Hampton Roads are making calls to a national dispatch company, one that might get a technician on site in two days, charges a premium for the wait, and sends a different tech every time.

Independent single-trade contractors exist, but they don't cover everything. Refrigeration tech can't touch the HVAC. HVAC tech won't look at the fryer. You're managing three vendor relationships and hoping each one shows up.

KitchenGuard is built to be the one call. Refrigeration, HVAC, ventilation, cooking equipment, minor electrical, plumbing, gas, all from one company, one relationship, one invoice.

How we work

Transparent pricing, always

Flat rates published upfront. No surprise overtime. PM contract clients know their rate before we show up.

Written reports after every visit

You get a written condition report after every PM visit, not just a verbal "it's fine." Know the state of your equipment.

We show up when we say we will

Priority and Premier PM clients get same day response on requests placed by 2:00 PM. Premier clients are never charged overtime when work runs after hours.

One vendor, all equipment

We built the scope to cover everything in a commercial kitchen, not because it's easy, but because it's what operators actually need.

Qualifications

EPA 608 Universal certification

Required federal credential for purchasing, handling, and recovering all refrigerant types in stationary refrigeration and HVAC systems. Every refrigeration and HVAC technician you hire must hold this certification, and we do.

General liability insurance

We carry general liability insurance. Certificate available on request.

Virginia business registration

KitchenGuard LLC is registered with the State Corporation Commission of Virginia (Entity ID 12030460) and holds the required city business license for Virginia Beach and operating jurisdictions.
